Our Commitment
Litchard Football Club has a legal and moral duty to safeguard every child entrusted to our care.
We are committed to providing a safe, enjoyable and inclusive environment for all members. A child
is any person under the age of 18.
Key Principles
• The welfare of every child is paramount.
• Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.
• Every child has the right to protection from abuse.
• Football should be fun, safe and positive.
• All concerns will be taken seriously and reported appropriately.
Role of the Club
The club follows the FAW Safeguarding Policy, Procedures and Practices, appoints a Club
Safeguarding Officer and works to protect children from physical, emotional and sexual abuse,
neglect and bullying.
Recruitment
All coaches and volunteers are recruited in line with FAW guidance, including role profiles, identity
checks, references, interviews where appropriate and Enhanced DBS checks.
Education & Training
Relevant coaches, volunteers and officials will receive safeguarding training and support to
recognise and respond appropriately to concerns.
Position of Trust
All adults working with young people must maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all
times.
Whistle-Blowing
Litchard Football Club - Safeguarding Policy Page 1Anyone with concerns about poor practice or abuse should report them to the Club Safeguarding
Officer or the FAW Safeguarding Team.
Anti-Bullying
Bullying is not tolerated. All reports will be investigated and dealt with promptly.
Codes of Conduct
Players, parents, coaches, managers and volunteers are expected to follow the club's Codes of
Conduct.

Reporting Concerns
If a child is at immediate risk, contact the Police or Social Services without delay. Otherwise report
concerns to the Club Safeguarding Officer as soon as possible.
